Kelley Romar was born in Detroit and is a proud Galveston Ball High graduate. She attended North Texas State University and received her BS in Criminal Justice. She worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division as a parole officer and Galveston Unit Supervisor for 21 years. Currently, she works for GISD as a Project Coordinator for the Galveston Project for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. Ms. Romar is committed to improving the lives of homeless children and youth in Galveston, with extensive experience working with various social service and criminal justice programs, such as homeless programs, drop- out prevention, afterschool programs, case management, social skills, early intervention, and public awareness. She has presented and coordinated many trainings and presentations for schools and community social services organizations on the subject of school-age homeless children and youth.
